Many of you who have done any of the Emazon courses are familiar with the terms ‘Authentic Self’, ‘True You’, ‘Real You’ and ‘The Red Self’. For now I will refer to it as the True Self, an extension of the Magnificent You.
There is only ONE unique combination of your body, mind and spirit known as the True Self and it is here on the earth for a sole purpose. The common struggle I see in my clients is a result of an ongoing battle between the True Self and the Conditioned Self. The Conditioned Self is motivated by acceptance and governed by the ego whereas the True Self is motivated by freedom the right to pursue its free expression governed by the Greater Mind (united intelligence of the body, mind and spirit as one). Now this alone is a massive topic within its self that I expand upon further in my book and is taught as an introductory module in Rebelology courses. The Greater Mind is the foundation of all the Rebelology principles however I will not be expanding on for the purpose of this blog. For more insight, refer to my earlier blog: The Laws of Natural Order
Even though there is only one unique true self that is you, the Greater Mind does come with a few characteristics that are universal amongst us; the Rebel is one of them. The true you may have waited for the adult years to arrive before deploying your rebel into action. Adulthood is the time by which most people understand they have free will, developed some emotional intelligence and come to realise they are independent to stand up and fight for themselves. Its common to think the teen years are the most likely rebellious years of our lives, however my experience indicates a second wave of rebellion that hits in our 30′s and 40′s. This is when the rebel is at its most powerful, most equipped and most determined.
If any of you have ever said, thought of felt; “F*ck it! That is it! I am not doing this anymore! I am sick of __________!”, this is a call to action for your inner rebel to step up. However instead of taking defiant action most people take the path of “self improvement” on a superficial level such as a “Body Transformation” program, diet or fitness fad. While this is all positive improvement with undeniable benefits our True Self yearns for a much deeper alteration.
Your Rebel will patiently wait while your ego who thrives on control will drag your through the next diet, the training sessions and the self-help books. It waits for the endorphin’s to subside, the caffeine to wear off and your positive affirmation board to collect dust before it unleashes it’s W.M.D.
But if we fuck around for too long obsessing about ways to only transform ourselves on the outside, it gets restless. It calculates a perfectly timed opportunity to breakthrough into a new way of living, being, thinking and standing. Like a storm with no warning, it brings us its Rebel Chaos. It brings a disorder, a confrontation, an injustice and a challenge conflict. It does this to scramble the current conditions and break apart the status quo to grant us a subtle gateway to alter our environment, our beliefs or action. It forces change upon us. In other words, your inner rebel upsets the apple cart. At that point we can either choose to work with its strength or against it.
Remember, it was you who asked for the change in the first place. Some expect the change to be a comfortable process that is neatly packaged in a new dress size or in a way you can control. However when you ask for change, relief, transformation, the ability to move forward (or the ability to move away from your current state) at some point, you employed your Rebel. If we ignore the soul work that needs to be done, it unleashes its chaos to force the change on us.
NOW I am reaching the core of the Rebelology principles. NOW I am getting to the blood, the sweat and the tears. NOW I’m getting right into the thick of it because NOW I ask you, when that opportunity for rebellion to stand your ground, what do you do with it?
Do you believe the world is picking on you? Do you think you are breaking down or can you hear the call of the Magnificent You trying to break open?
